Server & PHP Requirements
FeastFlow is built on the robust Laravel 13 framework architecture and is fully optimized for standard shared hosting (cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk), LiteSpeed servers, CloudLinux, and VPS instances (Ubuntu/Nginx/Apache).
| Component | Minimum Requirement | Recommended Setting | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Framework | Laravel 13.x | Laravel 13.24.0 (Latest Release) | Included |
| PHP Version | PHP 8.3+ | PHP 8.3 (or 8.4) | Required |
| Database | MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.4+ | MySQL 8.0+ with InnoDB | Required |
| Web Server | Apache (mod_rewrite) or Nginx | LiteSpeed / Nginx / Apache | Required |
| PHP Memory Limit | 128 MB | 256 MB or 512 MB | Critical |
| Max Execution Time | 60 seconds | 120 seconds or 300 seconds | Critical |
| Upload Max Filesize | 32 MB | 64 MB | Recommended |
Required PHP Extensions
Ensure the following standard PHP extensions are enabled in your hosting control panel:
Core & Database
BCMath— Precise multi-currency arithmeticPDO&pdo_mysql— Database connectivityOpenSSL— Cryptography and secure tokensMbstring— Multilingual UTF-8 characters
Files & Formats
Fileinfo— Secure file and image verificationJSON&XML— API responses & feedsGDorImagick— QR codes & thumbnailsZip&Ctype— Package handling
Extension to DISABLE
PECL psr (psr.so): Disable in PHP 8.3
Do NOT enable the legacy C-level psr PECL extension in DirectAdmin or cPanel. Modern Laravel bundles its own complete PHP-based PSR-3 logging suite. An enabled system psr extension conflicts with Monolog 3 and causes HTTP 500 fatal compile errors.
PHP 8.3 Resource Limits & Server Optimization
Recommended PHP Resource Directives
Because FeastFlow handles real-time live exchange rate synchronization (160+ world currencies), automated PDF invoice generation, multi-tier QR code standees, and restaurant usage tracking, setting appropriate PHP resource limits is mandatory to prevent HTTP 500 timeouts or unstyled partial pages on shared hosting.
memory_limit = 256M max_execution_time = 120 max_input_time = 120 post_max_size = 64M upload_max_filesize = 64M
psr C-Extension in PHP Selector! If your hosting server runs PHP 8.3 with the old PECL
psr or psrext C-extension enabled in your control panel, uncheck it. Laravel bundles its own modern, compatible PHP-based PSR logger. The outdated server-level C-extension will cause Monolog to conflict and prevent laravel.log from writing.

Installation Guide
FeastFlow is architected with a dual installation approach: a friendly automated Web Installation Wizard, or manual database import for developers.
Option A: Automated Web Installation Wizard (Recommended)
Upload Application Files
Upload all files and folders located inside the Files/ directory directly into your web server's document root (e.g. public_html/ on shared hosting or domain folder).
Create MySQL Database
In cPanel or DirectAdmin, open MySQL Databases. Create a database, create a database user with a strong password, and assign ALL PRIVILEGES to the user on that database.
Launch the Web Installer
Open your browser and visit your site URL: https://your-domain.com/install
The wizard will automatically:
- Verify all PHP extensions and directory permissions.
- Test your MySQL database connection.
- Execute database migrations and populate default restaurant settings, currency tables, and demo accounts.
- Create your primary Super Admin user credentials.
Configure Directory Permissions
Ensure the following directories have write permissions (CHMOD 775 or 755):
chmod -R 775 main/storage chmod -R 775 main/bootstrap/cache chmod -R 775 assets/restaurants chmod -R 775 assets/menu-items chmod -R 775 assets/qrcodes
Option B: Manual Installation (cPanel / phpMyAdmin / Terminal)
For developers, system administrators, or hosting environments preferring direct database import rather than the web installer wizard:
Upload & Extract Application Files
Upload all files and directories located inside the Files/ directory of your downloaded package directly into your web server's document root (e.g. public_html/ on cPanel or your domain directory on VPS/DirectAdmin).
Create MySQL Database & User
In cPanel or DirectAdmin, open MySQL Databases:
- Create a new database (e.g.
cpaneluser_feastflow). - Create a database user with a strong, secure password.
- Add the user to the database and assign ALL PRIVILEGES.
Import database.sql via phpMyAdmin
FeastFlow includes the full pre-built database schema and default records in database.sql (located in the root directory or main/database/database.sql):
- Open phpMyAdmin from your hosting control panel.
- Select your newly created database in the left sidebar.
- Click on the Import tab at the top.
- Click Choose File, select
database.sql, and click Import / Go.
Configure Database Credentials in main/.env
Navigate to the main/ directory. Rename .env.example to .env (or edit the existing .env file) and update strictly your database credentials and website domain URL:
APP_NAME="FeastFlow" APP_ENV=production APP_DEBUG=false APP_URL=https://your-domain.com DB_CONNECTION=mysql DB_HOST=127.0.0.1 DB_PORT=3306 DB_DATABASE=cpaneluser_feastflow DB_USERNAME=cpaneluser_dbuser DB_PASSWORD=your_secure_password
In FeastFlow, the
.env file is used strictly for database connectivity and the primary site URL during manual installation. You do NOT need to edit .env to configure payment gateways, Google Gemini / OpenAI keys, email SMTP, Twilio SMS, WhatsApp, Google Maps, Pusher, or currencies. All platform APIs, payment credentials, and operational features are configured visually in the Super Admin Dashboard UI (/admin/settings/*).
Configure Directory Permissions
Ensure that storage and upload folders are writable by the web server (CHMOD 775 or 755):
chmod -R 775 main/storage chmod -R 775 main/bootstrap/cache chmod -R 775 assets/restaurants chmod -R 775 assets/menu-items chmod -R 775 assets/qrcodes
Log in to Super Admin & Change Password
Navigate to https://your-domain.com/admin/login and sign in using the default Super Admin credentials:
- Email:
admin@feastflow.com - Password:
password
Once logged in, navigate immediately to Super Admin Profile / Settings to update your administrative email and password.
Mandatory Server Cron Jobs
FeastFlow uses automated background schedules for essential operations including automated daily live currency exchange rate syncing, order auto-cancellation, subscription expiry management, and queued webhook notifications.
Standard Schedule Cron (Every Minute: * * * * *)
In cPanel under Cron Jobs or DirectAdmin under Cronjobs, add the following command to run once per minute:
/usr/local/bin/php /home/yourusername/public_html/main/artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1
* Replace /home/yourusername/public_html/main with your server's exact path to the main/ directory.
Queue Worker Cron (Shared Hosting Fix: */5 * * * *)
On shared hosting environments without a daemon supervisor, add this second cron job every 5 minutes to process queued background jobs:
cd "/home/yourusername/public_html/main" && php artisan queue:work --stop-when-empty >> /dev/null 2>&1
Default Demo Credentials
Use these pre-configured credentials to test all roles immediately after running the installer:

Super Admin SaaS Monetization & Plans
FeastFlow enables platform owners to operate a recurring multi-tenant subscription business. Define custom SaaS packages with granular quota limits and feature toggles.
Tiered Feature Flags
Control exactly which plans unlock custom domain white-labeling, direct payment gateway connections (100% payouts), WhatsApp gateways, and AI menu writing tools.
Capacity Quota Limits
Set maximum menu items (e.g. 50 vs unlimited) and monthly order quotas (e.g. 200 orders vs unlimited) to incentivize restaurants to upgrade.
Platform Commission Rates
Configure different commission percentages per plan tier (e.g. 15% on Basic, 8% on Pro, 0% on Enterprise).
160+ Multi-Currency & Automated Exchange Rate Engine
FeastFlow includes an automated real-time multi-currency engine supporting over 160 global currencies with automatic decimal formatting, symbol positioning, and daily rates synchronization.
How Live Rates Synchronization Works
Clicking "Sync Live Rates" in the Admin Currencies console or running the automated daily cron job queries open global currency exchange feeds:
- Tier 1: Open Exchange Rates API (
open.er-api.com) — Fast real-time JSON rates. - Tier 2: ExchangeRate-API (
api.exchangerate-api.com) — Redundant secondary backup feed. - Tier 3: Fawaz Ahmed Global Open Currency Feed (CDN cached global daily JSON).
Super Admin System & API Configuration
FeastFlow was engineered with a dedicated, zero-code administrative console. As the platform owner, you never need to modify code or shell .env files to add payment gateways, configure AI keys, connect SMTP servers, or set up notification channels. All operational configurations are safely managed from the Super Admin Dashboard → Settings (/admin/settings/*).
1. General Platform Settings (/admin/settings/general)
Configure platform brand name, support telephone, administrative contact email, physical address, system timezone, default date/time display format, platform sales tax rate (%), and invoice numbering prefix.
2. Payment Gateways (/admin/settings/payments)
Enable and configure 15+ payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Mollie, Paystack, Flutterwave, Cashfree, Paytm, Alipay, Coinbase, NOWPayments, COD, Bank Transfer). Each gateway includes its own live "Test Connection" button to verify API secret keys instantly.
3. AI Providers & Models (/admin/settings/ai)
Select your active AI engine (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Groq), input your API credentials, pick your model, and click "Test AI Connection" to run a real-time prompt generation test before saving.
4. Email & SMTP Delivery (/admin/settings/email)
Configure your mail server using standard SMTP (Host, Port 587/465, Encryption TLS/SSL, Username, Password, Sender Address, and Sender Name). Includes a "Send Test Email" button that sends a verification message to any inbox.
5. SMS & WhatsApp Notifications (/admin/settings/notifications)
Connect Twilio, MessageBird, or custom SMS providers for automated customer order dispatch SMS. Configure WhatsApp Business API credentials and test real-time phone alerts with "Test SMS" and "Test WhatsApp" buttons.
6. Google Maps API (/admin/settings/maps)
Add your Google Maps Platform API key, default platform coordinates (latitude and longitude), and initial map zoom level to power automatic address geocoding, distance calculation, and driver GPS navigation.
7. Security & Spam Protection (/admin/settings/security)
Toggle Google reCAPTCHA (v2/v3) or Cloudflare Turnstile to protect user registration, checkout, and contact forms from automated bots. Configure session timeouts and brute-force login lockout policies.
8. System Maintenance (/admin/settings/maintenance)
Place the customer storefront into temporary maintenance mode during scheduled server maintenance. Customize maintenance headlines and messages, and use an emergency secret bypass key to access the storefront as administrator.
Coupons & Promotional Marketing Engine
FeastFlow includes a promotional coupon system designed to boost diner retention, average order values, and marketing campaigns.
Flexible Discount Logic
Create percentage-based discounts (e.g. 15% off) or fixed monetary savings (e.g. $5.00 off) applicable at checkout.
Order Margin Guardrails
Enforce minimum order subtotal requirements and maximum discount limits to protect restaurant profit margins on large orders.
Usage & Redemption Limits
Configure overall redemption caps (e.g. first 100 customers) and per-user redemption limits (e.g. one-time per customer).
Platform vs Restaurant Coupon Scope
- Platform-Wide Coupons: Super Admin creates global promo codes funded across all restaurants to drive customer acquisition campaigns.
- Restaurant-Specific Coupons: Individual restaurant owners create exclusive discount codes applicable only to items ordered from their kitchen menu.

FeastFlow allows Super Admin to configure whether diners pay through the platform's central merchant accounts (with vendor earnings disbursed via the Payouts system) or allow premium restaurants on higher subscription plans to connect their own direct Stripe/PayPal keys for 100% instant direct deposits!
Platform Commission & Vendor Payouts
FeastFlow provides an automated financial accounting and digital wallet infrastructure for multi-vendor revenue splitting:
How Commission & Payout Work
- Automated Split Calculation: Whenever a diner completes an order, FeastFlow automatically calculates the platform commission based on the restaurant's subscription plan percentage (e.g. 10%).
- Vendor Digital Wallet: The net earnings (Order Total minus Platform Commission) are credited to the restaurant's available wallet balance.
- Payout Withdrawal Request: The restaurant owner submits a payout withdrawal request through their dashboard with their bank details or PayPal address.
- Super Admin Approval: Super Admin reviews the request under Admin → Payouts, processes the transfer, and marks it as Approved / Paid with a reference transaction code.
QR Table Contactless Dine-In Ordering
Empower restaurants to eliminate expensive paper menus and long wait times. Diners simply scan the QR code positioned on their table to browse food, customize ingredients, place orders, and pay directly from their smartphone.
High-Resolution QR Standees

Troubleshooting & Common Fixes
1. Subscription page or currency sync shows HTTP 500 or unstyled partial page
Cause: Low PHP max_execution_time or low memory_limit on shared hosting causing PHP to time out mid-render.
Fix: Increase your PHP settings in cPanel (MultiPHP INI Editor) or DirectAdmin to:
memory_limit = 256M max_execution_time = 120 max_input_time = 120
2. Logger error mentioning Declaration of Monolog\Logger::emergency... must be compatible with PsrExt (or missing laravel.log)
Cause: The server has the outdated PECL C-extension psr (psr.so) enabled in PHP 8.3 extensions. Because its old PHP 7-era signatures clash with modern Monolog 3 and PSR-3 typehints, PHP halts with a fatal compile error whenever logging is triggered, causing HTTP 500 errors on subscriptions, failure to generate laravel.log, and currency sync failures.
Fix: Apply either of the following 1-click solutions:
- Option A (Recommended for PHP 8.3): In DirectAdmin or cPanel under Select PHP Version → Extensions, find and UNCHECK / DISABLE
psr, then click save. Modern Laravel bundles its own complete PHP-based PSR-3 logging suite in Composer, making the C-level extension redundant and harmful. - Option B: Switch your domain or web root to PHP 8.4 in DirectAdmin / cPanel, where this outdated extension is not active.
3. Uploaded food images or QR codes return 404 Not Found
Fix: Ensure write permissions are set on assets/menu-items/, assets/restaurants/, and assets/qrcodes/ (chmod 775). Also ensure APP_URL in main/.env matches your exact domain with https://.
4. Stale view changes after upgrading files
Fix: Delete all files inside main/storage/framework/views/ so Laravel recompiles fresh Blade views.
5. White screen error: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.3.0"
Cause: Your server or domain is currently running PHP 8.2 or lower. FeastFlow is built on modern Laravel 13, which requires PHP 8.3.0+.
Fix: Upgrade the active PHP version for your domain to PHP 8.3 (or higher):
- cPanel: Navigate to MultiPHP Manager (or Select PHP Version), select your domain, and switch to PHP 8.3.
- DirectAdmin: Navigate to Domain Setup → PHP Version Selector and choose PHP 8.3.
- Cloud / VPS (Ubuntu/Debian): Run
sudo update-alternatives --config phpand select PHP 8.3, or ensure your Nginx / Apache site configuration points tophp8.3-fpm.sock.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Do I need to edit the .env file to configure payment gateways, Google Gemini / OpenAI, or SMTP?
Answer: No! FeastFlow was engineered with a comprehensive administrative interface. All third-party service credentials (Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Paystack, Flutterwave, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq, SMTP mail servers, Twilio SMS, WhatsApp, and Google Maps) are configured visually through the Super Admin Dashboard UI under /admin/settings/*. The .env file is used strictly for database connection parameters during manual installation.
Q2: Why am I getting an HTTP 500 error or partial unstyled page on subscription or currency sync pages?
Answer: FeastFlow synchronizes live exchange rates for over 160 global currencies, performs automated PDF invoice generation, and handles multi-tier restaurant usage tracking. On standard shared hosting, default PHP settings (often max_execution_time: 30 and memory_limit: 128M) cause PHP to time out mid-render. Increasing your PHP limits in cPanel (MultiPHP INI Editor) or DirectAdmin to memory_limit = 256M and max_execution_time = 120 permanently solves this.
Q3: Why was laravel.log not created automatically on a fresh installation?
Answer: If your server has the outdated PECL psr or psrext C-extension enabled in your hosting control panel's PHP Selector, it conflicts with Monolog 3. Simply open your hosting control panel's PHP Selector → Extensions, find and uncheck / disable `psr`, and click save. Laravel bundles its own PHP-based PSR logger, and laravel.log will automatically generate normally.
Q4: Is an SSL Certificate (HTTPS) required to run FeastFlow?
Answer: Yes. Modern web browsers strictly mandate HTTPS for mobile camera access (used when diners scan contactless table QR codes), HTML5 Geolocation (used for delivery driver turn-by-turn routing), and secure payment gateway webhooks. Free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are provided with virtually all modern cPanel and DirectAdmin hosting plans.
Q5: Can restaurants connect their own payment gateways?
Answer: Yes! FeastFlow features a plan-gated dual payment architecture. Super Admin can enable "Direct Payment Gateways" on higher-tier SaaS subscription plans, allowing restaurant owners to connect their own Stripe or PayPal accounts to receive 100% of customer order funds directly into their merchant accounts with zero platform delay.
Q6: How often are multi-currency exchange rates updated?
Answer: With your 1-minute server cron job active (* * * * * php artisan schedule:run), FeastFlow automatically queries verified global currency feeds once per day. Platform administrators can also trigger an instantaneous rates recalculation anytime by clicking the "Sync Live Rates" button in the Super Admin Currencies console.
